Congratulations!

This month's alumni photo winner is Tuk-U graduate Vincent Sombranegra. Vincent's winning picture was taken in sunny Jamaica, where he was participating in the first annual Caribbean All-Nude Motorcycle Race. Vincent reports that he had to explain the location of Tuktoyaktuk many times, but his t-shirt was a big hit with his fellow racers, who came from around the globe. (To avoid confusion, it should be noted that only racing was done in the nude -- participants were fully clothed at all other times.) And in the true spirit of Tuk U, on the last day of competition Vincent gave his t-shirt to Askia Kofi, who came all the way from the tiny African nation of Guinea-Bissau to race naked. "Askia asked a lot of questions about Canada" says Vincent "but mostly he was amazed by the stories of our winters. Every time I tried to explain -30 weather to him, he'd just start laughing."

Our thanks go out to Vincent for his photo -- and his great story. We hope that Askia enjoys his t-shirt and we salute both men for their amazing bravery. (After all, would you race a motorcycle in the buff?)
